According to UNEP (United Nations Environment Program), only a fifth of all plastic produced is recycled. More than half of the waste ends up in landfills. There they will decompose for a very long time - from 20 to 500 years.

At the same time, 46% of waste comes from packaging, including plastic drinking water bottles. According to Greenpeace estimates, on average, one Russian buys 166 of these bottles a year and accumulates about five kilograms of garbage from them alone.
